Not sure if the BI is plumbed and wired like the BII, but, if so, you
may want to give this some thought before you do it. As I understand
it, at least in my BI, water going to the Brew Boiler first goes
through a heat exchanger in the Steam Boiler, bringing it up nearly to
brew temp. The Brew Boiler is intended to just bring it up a little
bit more to brew temp.

I'm not sure if the Brew Boiler is intended to bring the brew water up
to temp; it normally gets water that has been heated quite a bit
passing through the Steam Boiler. This would not happen, of course, if
the Steam Boiler were not fired up. Is the Brew Boiler element the
same as the Steam Boiler element?

Switching the Steam Boiler off might work if you just brew one shot.
Otherwise, I think sending water which has not been preheated into the
Brew Boiler would mess up the stability I love so much about my BI.
