Hi

My Brewtus went in to get a leak in the boiler, where the element plugs in,
sorted out and the agent very cunningly lent me a La Marzocco GS3 to use
while they are sorting it out.
I thought that you guys would be interested in my opinions on the GS3 after
using it for a week :-)

Likes:
- The volumetric dosing is fantastic, I never realised how much easier
things are when you don't have to think about when to stop the shot
- The built in Chrono, it is strangely satisfying to see all you shots
pulling their 60mls in exactly the same time
- On/Off timer that can be set from the console
- Steam power is awesome, can start a shot, fill the jug up and start
steaming the milk, milk is ready as the shot finishes, took a bit getting
used to at the start and had a few cups of HOT milk but now it is fantastic
- The joystick toggle for the steam is also really neat compared to a
turning knob.
- Overall, I would say that the build quality is much better than the
Brewtus
- Height, I can have cups on the cup warmer while the machine is located on
my kitchen counter (Brewtus is too tall)

Dislikes:
- Drip tray cover feels like it is an after thought, is loose and feels like
it should be slotting in somewhere to stop it from being able to rattle
about
- Price!

Whilst the GS3 is an awesome machine and I would think probably the right up
there are the pinnacle of home machines. I still find it very hard to
justify spending that much money on it. I will be collecting my Brewtus
today so reluctantly have to take the GS3 back :-(, have been considering
robbing a bank on the way.
