I have not had to adjust mine--it came preset at 1.45 from WLL.  I'd set to 1.4 
or a little more, if it were me--you will never wish you had less steam 
pressure.  As to adjustment, just bring the machine up to temperature, turn a 
little, wait til the boiler shuts off and see where you are, turn a little 
more, etc. until you hit your desired set point.
