Hello, I have a Brewtus IV vibe pump.
I have started to notice that hot water and steam travel back from the steam boiler through the plastic tubing, back to the OPV and finally all the way back to the water reservoir. Because of the steam, I cannot brew a proper shot as the pump has to first fill all the tubing back up and only then will brew pressure rise to brew the shot. If I place a blind portafilter in and backflush, interestingly the pressure on the pressure gauge at the front rises to about 10 bars. Even after I release the lever and remove the portafilter, the pressure still remains. In this state, steam/hot water does not return back to the reservoir - possibly as the pressure in the system prohibits this flow. I should finally tell you that I used one of those water softening things that comes with the machine. I noticed around the time when all of this happened, that the filter paper had been compromised and some of the beads were within the hose traveling towards the OPV. So...I took apart the opv and cleaned it as best I could. Also just took apart the solenoid valve and cleaned those parts as best I could - could not access the entire fitting though. I didn't find any of the beads in the system. My thought at this point, is could this be a solenoid valve that is not functioning? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Brewtus" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
