Thanks Dennis.  Yes, I was thinking about putting in a liquid filled gauge 
as well; I would imagine the vibe pump causes some vibrations in the needle.

Good idea for sources.  Unfortunately, the 2.5mm OD tubing is an odd size. 
 McMaster Carr does have some 1/8" (3.1mm) compression fittings; I am just 
not sure of the ability of a compression fitting to fill that much space. 
 Shipping is a killer for a gamble.    Maybe someone has had some 
experience with it that can share. 

Solder joints may be a better option for filling the gap, but I couldn't 
readily find them.  McMaster Carr takes a little time to navigate.
