I am the proud new owner of a Brewtus II that I picked up on Craigslist.
It had not been used for a couple years and both pressure gauges were
frozen (otherwise perfectly functional). I pulled the e61 apart and scale
wasn't too bad, but I went ahead and did a full descale as one had never
been done. Of note, a backflush had never been done either, so the top of
the shower screen, etc was caked with coffee.
As many of you are likely aware, the steam boiler gauge is a mushroom/nut
1/8 BSP (I think) connection so it was easy to dismantle. As anticipated,
the gauge inlet was solid scale. I soaked it in vinegar on and off for a
couple days, but it looks like it isn't going to come back to life. The
brew pressure gauge is direct soldered, so while I haven't pulled it yet, I
imagine it will look the same and my attempts to fix it will likely be
useless. Now for the question:

Does anyone know a source of compression or solder fittings that I could
use to convert the copper capillary tube of the brew boiler (2.5mm OD via
calipers) to either 1/8 or 1/4 NPT? Inexpensive gauges of quality are
readily available with standard NPT fittings.

For the steam boiler gauge, I may just buy a gauge with BSP or change over
to NPT using an adapter or cut and add a new NPT fitting. Then again, I
may just leave the broken gauge in there....

Thanks for your insight.
