Very likely you need to adjust the pressurestat. I had the same problem with a 
Brewtus III-R after I adjusted the pressurestat. I had ordered a replacement 
pressurestat but before putting the new one in I adjusted the old one and the 
problem went away. Has been going strong a couple years since the adjustment. 
The other thing I would check is for corrosion on the temperature probe 
connection on the pid.  I noticed that water would spit on the connection from 
the vacuum breaker on the top of the steam boiler I cleaned it without 
replacing the o-ring).
