I'm using a foam-knife with the joystick in question just find. The
joystick comes with a no-burn wand which won't work with the foam-knife.
However the non-no-burn (feel the burn 2016!) wand that you had to buy
with the foam-knife will fit into the joystick just fine. Just undo the
nut that holds the wand into the swivel socket thing and pop it in.

The whole thing, including removing the case, took maybe 20
minutes so it really is an easy upgrade. Here's a photo of the
