Further to Ira’s comments—there are also 9mm replacements. I read your question a little differently—I was thinking you meant “thicker” side-to-side, i.e. making it difficult to get it to push up into the group. Yes?
If so, I don’t know but I know that removing the original gasket was a nightmare and every one since was dead simple. So I’d tend to agree with you. Chris’ Coffee or many others have generic replacements.
