Thanks, how long should I give it before firing it up?

I would not put any of the RTV caulk sealant etc on it. Just use the product we sent. Managed to get the old heating element out with the help of an impact wrench. The socket on the end of a foot and a half long torque wrench wasn’t close to getting past whatever construction glue the factory used. Now that I have all the threads and surfaces clean and ready to reassemble, I have a couple of questions. 1. How long do I need to leave the thread goop to set up before firing up the machine? 2. Having come to the age where one recognizes the value of belt and suspenders, I’m leaning towards using a bead of high temp rtv on the heater element flange, since there’s no gasket. Silly or prudent? Appreciate the advice and counsel and especially sending the thread goop. Thanks! I’ll keep looking locally but if you’ll send asap I’ll know I have a good backup. I understand about finding the right stuff. I didn’t order a product on Amazon for high temp NSF RTV because it talked about it’s bonding properties. Yikes. It's not easy finding the right stuff. You don't want one that is so hard that you can't remove it later. If you can't find it let me know and we can ship. It can go First class and be there in three days. If you can point to a product with which you’re comfortable, I’ll try to locate it locally. I’m so done with two months of French press and the sooner I get our Brewtus fixed, the better for my entire household! We use a 1 7/16" socket. https://wiki.wholelattelove.com/images/6/68/EXPOBAR_ALL_Replacing_The_Element.pdf We use food grade, NSF thread sealant rather than a gasket. You should be able to find some at a restaurant supply store.
