Hi fellow coffee lovers,
I have my Brewtus IV (Vibration Pump) now for 1,5 years and was very happy
with it ... until this morning when it stopped heating and I really hope
someone here can help me. where I live I don't have an Expobar dealer or
repair center, so I probably need to figure this out on my own (hopefully
with your help).
anyhow, so here's what happens:
after turning it on (both main and steam boiler switches) I can hear the
pump for pretty exactly 2 minutes, the pressure gauge reads around 10 bars.
after those 2 minutes the pump stops and nothing happens. The pump seems to
be working, when I pull the lever the pump starts again and cold water is
coming from the brew group. But no steam or hot water - the steam gauge
just sits there not moving. Also the red light doesn't go on. The PID seems
to be working fine, has power, doesn't show any error codes, etc.
So I did the basic checks and have followed the great videos and
instructions on WLL - here's what I found:
- The pressurestat has power (220V - here in Europe) from the very
beginning, also while the pump is running right after startup.
- afaik it should only get powered after when the pump isn't running?
- The pressurestat sends power to both boilers at the same time at all
times (220V) - from the very beginning right after startup.
- afaik it should start with the steam boiler and only after that is at
temperature (i.e. pressure) it should power the brew boiler?
- the static relay is not blinking green but the green light is on at
all times. It has 220V going out at all times.
- afaik it should blink green?
- it looks like there is no power coming in to the heating elements of
both boilers
I have checked both high limits, they look fine.
So I would really appreciate if someone could help me here.
thank you already!
greetings
Arman
