I'm assuming he was talking about the AKO controller being end of life and 
not the machine.  I've been pulling great shots pretty much every day for 
three weeks with no issues on the temperature or pressure.  I've been 
checking the water temp at the brew group by holding the temperature probe 
of my Klein multimeter in the flow directly at the dispersion screen and it 
is right where it needs to be.  Who needs any fancy device for that!  I'd 
also like to thank the cute little 26 y/o former barista who pushed me to 
get this fixed!

I have a replacement temperature probe, probably deal with getting the old 
one out and new one installed over Labor day weekend.
