If the steam boiler is venting steam it’s most likely caused by one of 3 things:

1) the pressure relief vent is venting at too low a pressure and needs to be 
adjusted or replaced. Causing the vent to open before the pressure in the 
boiler reaches the setpoint on the pressure stat so it never shuts off the 
heating element.

2) the vacuum relief is not sealing and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. 
Causing the boiler to be unable to build pressure and so it never reaches the 
pressurestat  and shuts off the heating element.

3) the pressurestat or related wiring is broken or shorting, so it never turns 
off the heating element and just continues to generate steam.

When the steam boiler is on do you know what pressure the gauge reaches before 
it starts venting steam?

What parts have you bought and installed/what have you done so far?
