I know that there are still folks (like me - Brewtus II) who are running AKO controlled Brewtus machines.
I just wanted to pass along my success in replacing the thermistor probe in my Brewtus II. I thought this might be helpful for folks who are in a bind with a deteriorated temperature probe. I know that most (if not all) places no longer carry the thermistor or thermowell. I am pretty sure the official replacement part can be ordered through a few places in Europe (not sold as an espresso part). I purchased the following thermistor from Amazon: uxcell 10K NTC Thermistor Probe 19.7 Inch Epoxy Sensitive Temperature Temp Sensor for Air Conditioner (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LGLCYFP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I cut off the plastic termination plug, stripped the two wires, and installed it into the proper slots in the AKO controller. I tested the probe using hot water and a thermopen. Observed the expected ~6 C offset. I packed the thermowell with thermal paste and inserted the probe end into the thermowell. It worked fine and has properly controlled my brew boiler temperature. Hopefully this helps someone else. I am still contemplating upgrading my machine to PID. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Brewtus" group.
