Ok, on the bottom of your grouphead is a long silver cylinder. Takes a big wrench, 35mm? Inside are two springs and a pair of brass posts with rubber washers on them.
My guess is that this area is completely full of tar. Let machine cool, undo that cylinder, take note of part location and orientation and boil it all in cafiza, probably will take some scrubbing too. Potentially when you do this you'll remove tar that kept the rubber washers sealing - they may have turned hard by now, mine were like bakelite. Probably best approach is to undo that lower cylinder and clean out the major tar but don't clean those brass pieces and their rubber ends until you have some new ones in hand? If those rubber washers can't seal you won't be able to make brew pressure and then no espresso... The whole thing is super simple, you'll see, but since you haven't had this apart before you should probably plan to do the top as well, order new brew lever seals.
