Hi all,
I've noticed that when I attempt to connect across my router, a cisco 1600, I get connection problems. From my bridged box I can ping internally nslookup ssh whatever. When I go across the bridge and router from an internal or external location I have no problems. It's only when I attempt to go out form the bridge itself and across the router, or across the router to the bridge that I run into trouble. The default gateway is as below
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
0.0.0.0 xx.0.0.x 255.255.255.0 UG 0 0 0 br2
xx.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 br2
I can ping the gateway.
I also can't ssh or telnet to the box across the router, while I can internally, but I can telnet across the bridge and router to internal address. Once again indicating the bridge as the likely source of work to fix the problem. I want to be able to apt-get etc. from the bridge without needing to down the bridge.
The router is NAT 'ing the internal IP's I've tried a direct one to one mask for the bridge on the router and denied it a mask , but this is not a source of the problem.
Anyone had any similar problems, got any ideas?
Lewis
