Hi!

I want to migrate from 2.2.X to 2.4.X bridging code. My intention to do
it this way:

1) get linux-2.4.12
2) get all patchlets from
http://bridge.sourceforge.net/devel/bridge-nf/20010907-2/
3) patch all these patchlets, copy br_passthrough.c to net/bridge/netfilter/
4) compile kernel with more or less all netfilter&bridge options as modules
5) reboot the new kernel
6)
        brctl addbr br0
        brctl addif br0 eth0
        brctl addif br0 eth1
        ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0
        ifconfig eth1 0.0.0.0
        ifconfig br0 1.2.3.4 broadcast 1.2.3.127 netmask 255.255.255.128 up
        echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
7)
        iptables -A FORWARD -j LOG

well on part 7 there will be more of course. But this is the right thing.
I don't need [SD]NAT.

Is this the right path or will I have big problems with this setup?

Thanks a lot for any hints and tips,
best wishes

Norbert
