My apologies if this post sounds totally ignorant... any help is greatly appreciated... please reply direct to me and not the list: I am building a fresh new RH7.2 Linux box to serve as a bridging firewall. I have a 2.4.9 kernel which I recompiled with all my needed netfilter options. However I have no brctl program , though I do see the bridge object files in /lib/modules. also the man page for brctl isnt installed. I downloaded the source tarball and compiled it, but how exactly should I go about installing it in the system ? there is no make install target. Could someonen kindly tell me where the various files should go on my system ? Or should I just copy the brctl exec into my sbin and use it ?
