I read somewhere that 2.5 is an unstable kernel. I plan on using this to support a very busy windows network. You seem like you know a lot about how the kernel works, would the latest 2.5 properly support this kind of situation?
Or better yet are there any good howtos or guides for beginner kernel patching? -----Original Message----- From: Julian Anastasov [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 8:27 PM To: William Olbrys Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Bridge] ip mode patch Hello, On Tue, 25 Feb 2003, William Olbrys wrote: > How can I apply the IP Mode patch to the 2.4.20 kernel without gettnig > any errors? Is this ipmode patch for .9.5 of bridge-utils > only? That would seem like a waste with all the new versions. The ipmode kernel patch applies cleanly to 2.4.20 but together with the other patches I think there will be some rejects, these weeks I don't have the time to test the ipmode patch with other ones. Or may be the 2.5 version can be used in this case :) It is created for 2.5 where the ebtables is already in. As for the bridge-utils patch, it applies cleanly to 0.9.6 > Will Olbrys Regards -- Julian Anastasov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> E2-I: The presence of this footer indicates the message has been scanned for viruses by the WebShield e500.
