THANK YOU, Jeroen and Sonja. I was thinking about this just this morning,
after reviewing John's remarks of yesterday.
John, I know that you're passionate about this subject, but don't you
realize that your need to constantly proselytize only serves to make people
tune you out? I've been on the Brin-L list for about six months, and you
have brought this topic up almost monthly.
I understand that it's against the general principles of the list to get
annoyed about discussions that don't interest one, and that no one should
say "Let's drop this boring subject." However, I'd imagine that it's also
against the principles of the list to beat on a deceased equine, regardless
of how little everyone *else* wants to discuss the topic.
I normally like reading your posts; regardless of whether or not I agree
with any of your positions, you do have the courage of your convictions.
However,i t seems to me that the Brin-L list is more like a gathering of
friends than a debate team, and aren't there times when friends simply have
to agree to disagree?
Jim
