Interesting.
But keep in mind, none of the ideas I spouted out in a moment of supposed
revelation were inspired by Astrology. I know very little about all that
zodiac stuff, and actually had to ask a few people for the info I got.

I more had a sense of an energy FORCE that was powerful and all-surrounding,
Star Wars style ("It penetrates us, it binds us together, etc."). I
witnessed this force before me, felt it rushing through me, and was
overwhelmed by the reality I was experiencing. And as I said before, there
were no drugs -- prescription or otherwise -- influencing my perception.
I've always had a sense of self, purpose, and a belief in some high order to
things, but it was always abstract, removed from my waking world. I couldn't
deny what was occurring around me, and after confirming I wasn't going insane
I promptly began looking into a logical explanation.

The best answer I could come up with was Gravity.

My father is a psychiatrist, a man of science, and also has a healthy
spiritual life. His advise was: "Don't try to explain it." After cooling
off a bit, I think he may be right. The Gravity idea, ultimately, was merely
an attempt to describe that which cannot be described -- another "myth" to
help people understand the human experience in relation to the infinite.

Sort of like many of the books by Brin.
But this is a heavy-duty topic, and I know many people can be sensitive when
discussing it straight-up. I think I'm more comfortable in the realm of
metaphor and myth and stories with characters that "represent" many of these
ideas but don't hit the nail on the head.

Back to the screenplays for me ...
