The shores of the Black Sea were apparently quickly submerged 7600 years
ago and remain so today; Ballard and co. recently announcing finding
foundations of barns and outlaying buildings preserved on the sea floor.
Not quite old enough to qualify as ancient in this context, but nifty
nonetheless.
