The last figures I saw indicated that, like Perot in '92, Nader served as a
spoiler, taking key votes away from Gore in several states.  Guess that's
payback for the '92 election, eh?

The thing that surprises me the most is that many of the battleground states
are the states that showed the strongest Nader support.  I anticipated the
opposite.  It's as if most of the battleground Nader supporters refused to
change their votes, and the states where it did not matter, the supporters
*did* change their votes (talk about self-defeating).  It's hard to tell,
because I have no idea what the state-by-state Nader support was at in the
pre-election polls.  Looks like Nader supporters may have blown both Al
Gore's presidential candidacy (yet to be seen depending on Florida) *and*
because ~50% of Nader supporters changed their minds on who they were going
to vote for, blew getting the 5% of the popular vote that Nader aimed for.
Oh, well.  May the flounders find their way, while me and other stuborn Nader
supporters stand by waiting patiently for another 4 years, though Nader can't
run ! ! ! for The Green Party forever... he's getting pretty old.  I don't actually
foresee him running in the next election, but if he does, he'll have my
support unless Al Gore wins this election and his record in the office of
president convinces me that he is deserving of the office in his first term.
