Belated New Year wishes to everyone as I briefly emerge from the depths
of lurkerdom. As I intimated a year or so ago, 2001 is the year that
Maree and I are going to spend gallivanting around the globe, and the
time is nigh. We will be flying out of Australia before the end of the
month. First is about 5 weeks in Egypt and Jordan. Then we fly to
Germany to buy a motorhome (RV) to live in the next 8 months or so as we
do the grand tour of Europe. Then (since it was cheaper to buy a round
the world airfare) we will spend a few weeks in the US (stopping over in
NY and LA).
Although we are taking the laptop with us, I am not sure how often I
will be able to access the internet so I will probably need to
unsubscribe from the list. If anyone knows of a good deal for roaming
international access, I would be most interested to hear about it.
Nonetheless, Maree and I have set up a mailing list through eGroups
called Traveludenia from which we will send progress reports on our
adventures. If anyone is interested, drop me a line at [EMAIL PROTECTED] in
the next week or two and I will sign you on. Thankfully Maree can touch
type otherwise the messages from the cybercafes would be very brief as I
peck away at the keys.
Since joining the list 4 or 5 years ago, I have enjoyed reading the
sometimes diverse opinions on the list and I will certainly miss it if I
must unsubscibe. Best wishes to everyone, I will return! (Is that a
threat or a promise....?)
