I recently made a complaint to my ISP about a large batch of unsolicited
mail that I keep receiving. I think that someone at Road Runner (a US cable
service provider) is selling user lists. I can understand getting spam to
this email account, but I recently created an email account for my daughter
to communicate with her mom and sisters with, and within a few days that
account had started receiving spam too, and it had never been used.
Anyway, Road Runner sent me back a canned response that included the below
URL. It is actually fairly interesting and informative, especially if you
are someone that hates receiving spam.
