Yeah, I've got a complete (I think) run of these too. Apart from I don't
seem to have chapter 9. John, you got any on 9? Or have we, as a group,
fouled up? Or am I going slightly mad?

The east of the mountains, the west of the city?

Chatham in Kent is where the Royal Naval Dockyard is. It's been around since
Roman times. Not sure which works Brin is referring to. There's timber
works, and shipbuilding works dating back a long time.
