There you go again. I did not say that corporations are perfect, I merely
said that they are very accountable power structures.
Corporations that do not deliver value to consumers go bankrupt all the
time. On the other hand, incompetant politicians can always stay around
until the next election.
Additionally, a corporation that does a piss poor job will quickly face
competition from a competitor. Governments are hardly subject to such
cooperation.
Yes, corporations have done some very dirty deeds in their past. Then
again, our government has tested radiation on people in Washington,
conducted the Tuskegee experiments, and misplaced a ton of money.
I am watching "John Stossel goes to Washington" right now.... it is 9
minutes into the program.... and all I can say is WOW! What an amazing
program. (He just finished asking: What would happen if a private
corporation misplaced billions of dollars that they can't account for?
Head of the GAO: "We're not a private corporation.")

P.S. You all know how I feel about media bias- but isn't it interesting
that this big time report has been bured on Saturday Night at 10pm, and not
during one of their weekday highly watched newsmagazine reports?
