>Hi, John. I'm a low wage worker- below the poverty line, in fact. I produce
>your food, without which you would die. Obviously, a low->value product.

Yet, other family farmers have done rather well. The farmer in my family
had a very comfortable existance, and had two 2-month vacations per year
while he worked. Now he did work like the dickens during planting and
harvest season, but he was able to keep his farm going pretty well by
himself for a number of years. He was able to save enough to have a nice
nest egg, which allowed him to retire early. He now rents out his farm and
lives in the valley in the winter and up in Wisconsin in the summer. I hope
I can retire that well...and I've had jobs well above the poverty line.
