I just picked up The Landmark Thucydides, A Comprehensive Guide to the
Peoloponnesian War, edited by Robert Strassler. It is based on Crawley's
translation and includes a very good index, maps, informative appendices and
explanatory marginal notes. I'll let you know how good it was.

Also, finished W.E.B. Griffin's Special Operations. Now on to Victor Davis
Hanson's The Soul of Battle; E.B. Sledge's With The Old Breed, At Pelilu and
Okinawa; Richard Ketchum's Winter Soldiers; and Dreadnought by Robert Massie.
(must be in a history mood).

As for SF, finished the late James White's The Galactic Gourmet, a Sector General
novel; Beachhead by Jack Williamson; and Trouble and her Friends by Melissa
Scott. Next, White's Mind Changer, another Sector General novel; but now that
Gordon Dickson has passed, I may have to re-read the entire Childe Cycle.

Also reading some tech stuff for work.

so many books, so little time
