Pride is one thing, arrogance is another. The American arrogance is the 
best evidence that the US is not so great as it thinks it is.

Only the not so great need to be arrogant, and continuously boast about 
what they have accomplished. The truly great don't need that -- they know 
they have accomplished something great, and just smile because they know 
other people know it too.

There have been some truly great people in history, who accomplished great 
things. People like Gandhi, Shakespeare, Einstein, Hawking. Did they 
arrogantly boast about how great they were? AFAIK, they didn't. They didn't 
need to.
