I have 3 (or 2 1/2 if I acknowledge the fact that one records the sound at
such a low level that sometimes I have to play it back while wearing
headphones with the volume turned all the way up to comprehend what is
being said), and frequently have all three running at once. ('Cuz the good
-- or at least potentially interesting -- shows are always scheduled at the
same time on competing stations.) The two fully operational ones are
nearby so I can plug them together or into the back of the computer for
editing and such, though in reality I mostly watch or play back something
while working at the computer.
Of course, the DISadvantage to having all these electronic devices
concentrated in one area is that this particular corner of the house tends
to heat up rather rapidly when they're running, which is not a particularly
good thing at the season of the year we are facing (but not enough to do
much to help heat the house in early February) . . .

A 10-pack of 6-hour RCA tapes sells for just under $9 at the local Wal-Mart.
I actually prefer the 8-hour tapes, but they haven't had them for the past
several weeks . . .
