I'm not sure that killing was the point. Terror was. First the doodlebug,
with the weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeBANG!!! (as my
grandad vividly described it to me), then the V2 with silent death.

I thought they weren't *that* far behind, a couple of years at best.
