It depends. I fully intend to join the IDF (Isralie Defence Force) 
when I move to Israel after I finish my degree. I know a lot of my 
friends consider me nuts for wanting to, and since I'm not exactly a 
perfect specimine (I wear glasses and I'm not oversuipplied with 
upper body strenght) that I'll probly havta work to get in.

Why am I going it, when there IS every chance that I'll be hurt, 
given the current situation, which I think will deteiorate...why, when 
I'm told by an Isralie friend in the army of someone being killed and 
another wounded on his patrol.

I guess I just love Israel.I know it's not quite war, but frankly the 
situation could easily devolve into a full-blown war in the north again 
without warning. I know the risks, and they just don't seem that 
important cfompared to serving Israel...
