Star Database

Does anyone know where I can grab a good Star Database
online? Solving Ronn's Astrogation Problem made me realize
that I have two databases, none of which might help me
get the "final" answer.

One of them just lists the top 3804 stars by distance. The
other lists the top 60 stars by apparent magnitude. Neither
database is useful to generate a star map similar to what we
would see from Sol or from a near-Sol star :-/
