That's my biggest concern about this plan as well. It seems to me that any
"rogue nation" with someone in charge that has an IQ over room temperature
is unlikely to use a missile to deliver its nuclear payload. I am not
against us defending ourselves. Hell, I live here; I think it's a great
idea. :) But I also think that incidents like Oklahoma and the WTC bombing
have shown where the real danger lies.
Yes, a rogue nation could fire a missile at us, at the risk of being wiped
from the earth by our military after offering it as much resistance as BBQ
sauce gives a good wetnap. But if the nation in question has any sense of
self-preservation, a terroristic bombing just seems like a more likely
avenue. Granted, it's certainly possible that we would find out who did it
anyway, but firing a missile at us is an awfully public attack.
I would just like to see the money spent on defense of this nation going to
things that will actually, well, *defend* it.
