That's beside the point, however I'll answer anyway. I actually agree that
Kyoto isn't perfect by any means. I'm not sure why they all aggreed to it in
the first place.

That being said: as you pointed out in another post, per capita energy
consumption is double in the US to the next 4 G7 countries in GDP terms.

I'm fairly certain that a fair chunk of the difference is down to
inefficiency, rather than need. As the highest consumer, the US is bound to
"feel the most pain" in any enery reduction/pollution reduction traety, but
we need to take account of everyone else too.
