Granted, I'm a stickler about "historicals", so the howlers in Gladiator,
plus the apparent need of Hollywood to reduce all films to the "one man out
for revenge" format, really stuck in my craw. That, and I just don't see
what the big foofraw is about Russell Crowe.
Yes, "A.I." looks very promising. From what I've heard, Spielberg filmed it
the way Kubrick wanted it done. Now, I'm one of those people that'd watch a
Kubrick movie about a guy reading the phone book, but I'm *really* looking
forward to this, especially after the disappointment of "Eyes Wide Shut".
Friends I trust have told me "Moulin Rouge" is fan-freaking-tastic, and I'm
already a huge fan of the director ("Romeo + Juliet", "Simply Ballroom"), so
that's on my "must see" list also.
