Well, I know that I, for one, am considered something of an extremist, but
I would very vocally oppose it. What would retaliating with a nuke
against Hussein accomplish? We almost certainly would not hit Hussein
himself, and we would kill an awful lot of innocent civilians, most of him
probably loathe him already. Indeed, a nuclear retaliation on Iraq would
probably only serve to drive the general populace into Hussein's arms.
IMHO, it would be a massive blunder - accomplishing nothing for the United
States.
And what really scares me, is if I can convince myself that the US would
not retaliate, some dictator can almost certainly convince himself as well.

That's why I advocate doing whatever it reasonably takes to make the shield
operational before that happens.
