Red Dwarf's episode is along the same lines, except Lister & Co. screw up
history by ....
uh, SPOILER, y'all -- Boo!
...time-travelling into the book depository and knocking Oswald out the
window on accident. They can't really time travel again to stop
themselves for the usual space-time continuum paradox malarky, so they nab
JFK instead and convince him that the world will be a better place if he
shoots himself in order to finish Oswald's job. They have to nab him from
the back of a paddy-wagon because in the universe where he doesn't die, he
gets impeached and thrown in jail for messing with the mafia and with too
many babes.
