I am sure that the hundred of scientists studying such matters as the
connection of race to sickle-cell anemia and heart disease will appreciate
that Christopher Gwyn has declared the concept of "race" to have no
scientific validity.

Citizens of the Republic of China are usually referred to as Taiwanese.

Because if we did not, diplomatic contact with the PRC would be impossible.

Personally, I think that right now represents a golden opportunity in
history to formally recognize a "two Chinas" policy. If Beijing dares
throw a hissy fit over our recognition of Taiwan, they lose all hope of
hosting the Olympics. (Unfortunately, it is not entirely clear that the
Taiwanese want to abandon the "one China" formulation either.)
