I've been on the list a LONG time (by my standards - nearly 3 1/2 years
now, by my reckoning) and I've always had the utmost respect for John,
whether or not I agree with him.

It hurts me as well, and I'm not conservative. How are Kristin's (or,
for that matter, anyone's) active effort to make conservatives feel
unwelcome any better than a /perceived/ situation whereby JDG "forces"
Charlie to leave the list? No, indeed I would say that they are worse.
Everyone has equal right and opportunity to participate in this forum,
and to say someone... ANYONE... is unwelcome is harsh, brutal, and
displays and ugliness that no amount of "correct discussion" is ever
going to cleanse. Let's not participate in such hate.
