If the "greeners" hadn't started pointing out environmental problems, and
kept insisting that these problems be solved, not much would have been done
about those problems in the first place. It's not like big business ever
showed much interest in being environment-friendly -- their only concern was
(and is) how to make as much money as possible, at as little costs as
possible. Screw the environment.   :-(

And the "greeners" did present solutions. Perhaps not all of them realistic,
but at least we tried to think of solutions. And kept going, even when those
suggestions were met with "can't do that -- that would cost us money".
