My sister has the attitude when she goes out and protests that it's
something of a sacrement (I'm not kidding, that's the word she used) and
so she should dress nicely. She was questioned by someone dressed a lot
more sloppily than she when she was at Ft. Benning and gave that
explanation. This can lead to people not identifying her with a group of
protesters and treating her differently than they would if they knew she
was there to protest.
Oh, and she does have long hair. :) (But she wears it tidily.)
