         in many cases i trust the U.S. government - even when it is headed
by someone who i deeply disagree with. questions like 'Quality
Assurance' bring up questions of who do we trust, why do we trust
them, and how far does that trust go? and why do we have the kinds of
trust that we do? one of the major reasons that i trust the
government in many situations is because it is ultimately subject to
elections and because i know that very many of the people who work
for the government really do view their jobs as a service to the
people.
