This may come as a shock and a surprise, but contrary to what some Americans seem to think, Europe is not a socialist's paradise. Things like socialized health care and extensive social security are remnants from our socialistic past; nowadays, however, Europe is almost as capitalistic as the US. The almighty Euro is just as sacred here as the almighty dollar is over there.
