But that is where we disagree. I don't think the system is looking the other 
way and violating the foundations of our country. I think we must always 
strike some balance between personal freedom and group responsibility. This 
balance may shift depending on the level of the threat. Is it an infringment 
on your rights to have metal detectors at federal buildings. Aren't the 
innocent being assumed to be guilty of carrying weapons when they are forced 
to empty their pockets and walk through the detector?
