Now this is truly odd Kristin, because it seems to me that most pollution
in this country comes from urban areas.     Even accounting for the fact
that urban areas are much more densely populated, I am willing to bet that
the average rural person produces much less pollution than the average
urban person.  Additionally, I don't know if someone has a list of US
"brownfields", but I bet that almost all are pretty much near urban areas.
 Finally, it is the rural people who are often some of the strongest
advocates of open spaces.   Indeed, the first conversationists were rural
Americans who saw the environment crumbling around them, and the rapid
decline of "big game" species. 

Ever consider, Kristin, that you might have far more in common with rural
Americans than you think?
