Why do you incessantly assume that there is some anti-Bush conspiracy
involving everyone on the Brin list but you? And, for that matter, why do
you assume that anyone who has any issues with our President *has* to be a
zombie brainwashed by the liberals? Did you read the rest of the
discussion? Clearly, there's no room in your worldview for someone who can
see both sides of an argument; it seems outside of your realm of
possibilities.
Had you bothered to read my initial query, you'd have seen quotes from two
of the President's own advisors that belied his original statement, that we
are part of a larger whole. They clearly suggest a man less than committed
to compromise. His encouragement of emerging democracies joining NATO
somehow makes him multinationalist? Hell, if it was the Cold War still, a
President would want the same thing. Hardly a concession to the greater
civilization.
The President, whether he means to or not, comes across on the world stage
as the biggest kid in the sandbox, who's going to do whatever the heck he
feels like. Sorry John, but he does. I never said that that was an
entirely fair perception. All I said was that it was not entirely unfair.
Has the criticism he's received in his six months in office so bothered you,
that any negative word about him causes you to cavalierly insult the person
who says them? (And yes, "so many people can lap it up as the gospel truth"
is insulting and condescending. Let's try and keep it civil.)
And BTW, I *NEVER* used the word unilateral. You did. Kindly keep your
words out of my mouth.
