Well...
turbolasers are powerful weapons, but they can't target starfighters
well, hence Star Destroyer's fear of TRD (Trench Run Disease!)
Equally, they carry LARGE TIE craft compliments to offset this...
Although phasers are powerful, they'll just punch holes through SW
craft, which are MUCH bigger and structurally tougher, and most
phasers can't fire that quickly, handicapping them against fighter-
sixed craft...
