Josh,
The 'S' was Cmos or seamoss (long o) or some such thing. I tried to remember
if there was some reference to this particular ape in the Space Station, but
I do not recall.
I was extremely confused regarding the ending, and I would agree that it
kinda spoiled the whole movie. It was certainly a Twillight Zone ending....
and I did notice in the ending credits that there was some reference to the
Twillight Zone.
Frankly the ending can only be explained in a sequel. Perhaps there will be
reference to the time travelling Corniellus who leaves his spawn on Earth
who then later starts a revolt of monkeys.
